EDIThe Company, Our Customers & Our Work

Keyboard Dimension EDI was set up in 1997 to address the software market for electronic data exchange using international standards. The catalyst for setting up the company was the need for good, inexpensive (and even free) software support for the generic Statistical EDI Message (GESMES and GESMES/TS) which is now in wide use within the European statistical domain and the central banking community. Its founders have each been involved in e-commerce and its forebears for over 15 years.

The company is at the forefront of developments in XML to support e-business and metadata registries, and identifying the synergies between the two.

The PolyVal EDI products are in everyday use by a variery of members of the European Central Banking Community where it is used to validate messages used to send monetary and other financial data to/from the ECB, Eurostat, and OECD. It is also used in by the IMF, OECD, and Direccion de Sistematizacion de Informacion Economica, Banco de Mexico for translating incoming messages for integration with the databases used by these organisations.

The PolyVal product is also used by Eurostat which collects data from Member State statistical agencies, and by many of the statistical institutes and other statistical agencies in the Member States.

The product is supplied unsupported as freeware.

The company plays an active role in the standards making process and is an active member of the ebXML registry implementation group, and the Universal Business Library (UBL) group of OASIS.

By harnessing the experience gained over 15 years of practical e-commerce applications, including involvement in the standards making process, Dimension EDI is able to take the new technologies of XML and object oriented designs and integrate these so that they deliver you state of the art solutions to your e-business needs. This integration is based on:

  • metadata driven systems
  • a deep understanding of the fundamentals of the dynamics of e-commerce communities
  • latest technology

The Company is playing a leading role in two European Commission Research and Development projects: one dealing with intelligent e-forms and the other on linking metadata repositories using XML and international standards developed by ebXML, and in particular the ebXML registry. By participating in these prestigious projects we are able to keep at the forefront of technology for e-business.
