PolyVal GESMES Reader and Checker
This product was developed originally for the Central Banking community and the community of National Statistical Agencies and Eurostat (the statistical office of the European Commission). It is in daily use by these organisations. It is available on both the Windows (NT, 95/98) and Unix platforms.

GESMES is an acronym for Generic Statistical Message, and is an EDIFACT message which is used to exchange statistical tables and time series data. GESMES/TS is a time series sub set of GESMES and is used by the European Central Bank, the National Central Banks of the 15 EU Member States, the BIS (Bank for International Settlements), IMF (International Monetary Fund), OECD (Organisation of Economic Co-operation and Development), Eurostat and many of the National Statistical Agencies in the 15 Member States of the EU.

GESMES/CB Writer
This software was developed for Eurostat and supports the creation of the version of GESMES used in the Central Banking community (GESMES/CB) from a flat file. It makes extensive use of metadata to perform this conversion and so it is a very flexible product. The system includes a metadata maintenance system.

The system is written in Java and is available on appropriate Java enabled platforms (it is used currently on both Windows (NT, 95/98) and Unix).

This software (which comprises Java class files and documentation, including the technical specification) is available as freeware and can be downloaded from our software section.
